Sheraton Stockholm Hotel is on an exciting and ambitious journey to become the Nordic region’s leading hotel, and now you have the chance to join us on this journey. As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will play a central and strategic role where you, in close collaboration with the Director of Finance, lead and develop the finance department’s work.
This role offers you the opportunity to use your experience to influence and shape the future direction of the department while working closely with the hotel’s management to ensure long-term financial growth and sustainability.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics/finance or an equivalent qualification.
- Has experience in accounting and finance, having worked with similar tasks in a leadership or advisory role. Your experience and strategic skills are crucial in taking the finance department to the next level.
- Ideally, has experience from financial functions within the hotel/restaurant industry and knowledge of Swedish accounting principles (K3).
- Is an effective communicator in both Swedish and English.
- Possesses excellent skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and one or more financial systems. The systems we primarily work with are SAP, Opera, Adra, Infrasys, and Opsimize.
Your main responsibilities:
- Oversee the ongoing reconciliation of the hotel’s balance sheet accounts, ensuring that supporting documentation complies with the company’s policies and local accounting principles.
- Work proactively to improve and develop internal processes for bookkeeping and reporting, ensuring adherence to the latest accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Assist with the accounting of accruals for prepaid expenses.
- Prepare standardized accounting orders at the time of closing.
- Prepare and report VAT and tax declarations.
- Contribute to and ensure that monthly reports are compiled on time and with accurate information for further reporting to the hotel’s management and owners.
- Coordinate with the hotel’s department managers and ensure that accruals for expenses are recorded in the correct accounting period.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Accounting Policies and Procedures as well as local laws and regulations.
- When needed, provide support for other functions within the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audit, to ensure smooth and efficient financial management.
The finance department currently consists of six people, and you will report to the Director of Finance.

We provide a flexible work environment, with working hours primarily from Monday to Friday. Some flexibility is expected, especially around month-end, but we ensure you have the time to balance work with other aspects of life.
The position is a permanent, full-time role (100%) and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
